If you received a rental tax bill but the appraised value of the bill is incorrect or needs to be amended, please fill out the rental return form found here: Return on 6% Assessed Real Property or Rental Residential Property Form
The ”Tax Year” will be the year located at the top-right of the rental bill, and the 18-digit PIN (Property ID) can be found on your real property or house tax bill. If you do not have a copy of your real property tax bill, the PIN can be found using the account lookup online: Real Property Search
Once the rental return has been completed online, you will receive a copy of the completed return through email for your records. You will receive a copy of the adjusted rental tax bill through the mail, or if the bill has already been paid then you will be mailed a refund check for the difference after 4-6 weeks from the Beaufort County Treasurer's office once the return has been processed. Status updates for pending or processed refunds are requested through the Treasurer's office.
Please be aware that we work the rental returns in the order they are received, so the wait time for adjusted bills will vary. Rental returns submitted between October to December will also have wait times impacted due to this being the billing season.
