For watercrafts purchased from a certified marina dealership, the dealer should be forwarding the appropriate information to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR), who will then forward information to our office to have a bill automatically created several months after your purchase. The bill will be mailed to you in the form of a 120 Days tax notice once it has been generated.
To verify whether your watercraft registration is being worked, we recommend contacting the dealership you purchased your watercraft from to confirm they are submitting the appropriate documentation to SCDNR.
Further correspondence
If you contacted the dealership and they confirmed they will not be sending information to SCDNR to register your watercraft, please provide our office your bill of sale and photo IDs of the buyers by filling out and attaching these documents to the request ticket form linked here (note that expired IDs are not accepted):
